Habilitation

A habilitation is the acknowledgment of a special aptitude for research and teaching in a subject or subject area represented at the Faculty of Behavioural and Cultural Studies.

Prerequisits and Requirements

A doctoral degree or an equivalent academic qualification is a necessary prerequisit for the admission as a candidate for habilitation, as are usually several years of research activity and teaching experience.

For the habilitation, the candidate's suitability for carrying out research and teaching activities at the professoral level has to be demonstrated by the following means:

  1. the written habilitation thesis
  2. confirmation of the pedagogical-didactic suitability according to the faculty's habilitation regulations
  3. the oral habilitation performance
