Doctorate Supervisors

Doctorates in the subjects of educational science, sociocultural anthropology, gerontology, psychology, and sports science are generally supervised by a university lecturer, private lecturer, or junior research group leader (with doctoral rights granted by the faculty) from the faculty. In cases where the doctoral thesis is to be supervised by a person from outside the faculty, the supervision of the dissertation can only be undertaken jointly with a university lecturer, private lecturer, or junior research group leader (with doctoral rights granted by the faculty) who is a member of the faculty. The consent of both supervisors must be obtained in advance. If one supervisor is a co-opted faculty member, the other supervisor must be a full faculty member.
The search for a supervisor is largely left to your initiative. Depending on your interests, you should therefore contact the relevant persons directly. We recommend using the websites of the respective institutes or institutions to search for a supervisor. All potential supervisors at our faculty are also listed in the faculty's teaching staff directory.
